Information for teachers, who want to use the OpenWebSchool during their lessons
Requirements
- To use units of the OpenWebSchool is very easy, if the pupils have direct access to the internet during the lesson.
- You can "download" the OpenWebSchool as well and use the units without an internet connection.
- The pupils going to work with the OpenWebSchool should have some knowledge of using a web browser.
A unit to this topic is needed for the OpenWebSchool. Who wants to write a lesson? Go to our ideas section.
- You only have to know how to use your web browser as well. A description of each lesson can be found in the lessons's directory.
Choosing a lesson
- The lessons are sorted by class level and subject. In lessons's index (also reachable by the OpenWebSchool homepage,
link "zu den Unterrichtseinheiten") you will find a link to a complete list with all avaible lessons of a class level and subject you selected.
- In this complete list you can search for a fitting lesson. You should also have a look at the next class level.
Maybe you will find there a good one for your needs.
- A more detailed description (if exists) is provided by a link.
- Each lesson has an unique designation: e.g. "05.ma.0003" is the designation for the third lesson in maths class level 5.
The designation is arbitrary and depends on the date the unit was added. It is important to remember the designation
correctly with all leading "0".
Using the lessons
- Depending on the type of lesson, a pupil or a group of pupils can solve the lesson.
It is also possible for the pupils to do a lesson as a homework. You can use an overhead projector for illustrating a problem
(e.g. while describing the figures ray or while painting some mathematical curves).
- It would be possible to send answers by email to the teacher (e.g. used in some USA colleges), but we have not implement this yet.
Doing it this way would make sense, if an answer with a text can be send to the teacher by email for correction.
- If you are going to use an unit during your lesson or you want your pupils to do an unit, use the direct way to access an unit. Go to the
OpenWebSchool main page and put into the edit field named "zur Übung" the correct designation and press the [OK] button.
You will get directly to the lesson.
- Improvements, changes and evolution to the lessons is very welcomed!
If you have any questions or problems to a lesson, contact us! Don't forget the correct designation and a clear description of your concern.
We can solve a bug very easy, if you give us a good description of the problem. It would be very easy to do the necessary changes.
