Pupils should get used to the computer by an open project over the internet. The project doesn't focus on computer topics at all. It's main issue is to show a way to use the computer as an multimedia tool. All lessons are clearly structured and can be used on every computer connected to the internet. The OpenWebSchool (http://www.openwebschool.de) follows the philosophie of OpenSource and FreeSoftware. The complete source code can be downloaded and changed, if the changes are shared with the public later. An art course could add some images to the webpage for example, or a music class could digitize some sounds or a German course could answer questions over an web interface about syntaxical or semantical analysis. The open development of the system is very important to serve the different needs. But also changes belonging to new pedagogical approaches are easier to implement.
