You can configure a scanner at any time using
YaST. The sane package
contains hardware drivers and other essentials needed to use a scanner.
Connect your scanner to your computer and turn on the scanner.
Start YaST and select +. YaST will check if the sane package is available and install it automatically.
If your scanner is detected automatically, YaST will show it in the dialog. Otherwise click +:
To configure the scanner, select the entry and click .
If your scanner cannot be automatically detected, click to open the manual configuration dialog:
YaST shows a list of scanner models. If your scanner has been detected automatically, the appropriate model is preselected. Otherwise select the appropriate model and click to proceed. Refer to the help text on the left for detailed information.
YaST will check if an additional scanner driver package is needed and install it automatically. The appropriate driver is activated and should recognize the scanner.
The configured scanner appears in the dialog.
To test the scanner, click +.
If configuration has been successful, click to close the YaST scanner module.
