In SUSE Linux, you can choose from various desktops. KDE and GNOME are powerful graphical desktop environments similar to Windows©. Find information about these in Chapter 5, Getting Started with the KDE Desktop and Chapter 7, Getting Started with the GNOME Desktop. If you do not want either, choose Other and click Select for more options. With Minimal Graphical System, install a graphical window manager that allows for running stand-alone X applications and console windows but does not provide the usual integrated desktop functionality. In Text Mode, only console terminals are available.
