Creating an Issue

New Issues can be entered via the "New Issue" link. The originator and create date are set automatically and cannot be modified. The "Manager" and "Responsible" are set to defaults as they exist in the Track+ database. These fields may be changed.

Initially, it may oftentimes be useful to have the same person be assigned as the manager and responsible of an issue. As the issue is moved forward, a change control board or a project manager might assign an issue to a developer or tester. It is common to have the responsible changed as the issue changes states (e.g. when a change has been carried out and the change needs to be integrated or tested). The change of the responsible will automatically notify the new responsible person that an issue has been assigned to her.

The general idea is that

The manager would for example be a project manager, or subsystem manager while the responsible might be a software or hardware developer.
