For each project type and list type you may define a workflow. The workflow is characterized by
the state change
the role that is allowed to perform that state change
You may visualize the workflows you have defined in a graphical
fashion if you have the "graphviz" software from AT&T
research labs installed (you can download it for free from their site
at
http://www.graphviz.org/Download.php.
You can also draw a textual report. By selecting appropriate entries you will see which roles and list types are related to a specific state change you have defined.
If you do not define any workflow all state changes are allowed. However, be aware that by default not all states may be visible for all lists. For example, by default only states "open" and "closed" are visibile for mile stones.
