In SUSE Linux, you can choose from various desktops. ‘KDE’ and ‘GNOME’ are powerful graphical desktop environments similar to Windows©. Find information about these in Chapter 7, The KDE Desktop and Chapter 8, The GNOME Desktop. If you do not want either, choose ‘Other’ and click ‘Select’ for more options. With ‘Minimal Graphical System’, install a graphical window manager that allows for running stand-alone X applications and console windows but does not provide the usual integrated desktop functionality. In ‘Text Mode’, only console terminals are available.
