To view and manage your Novell® iFolder® account, right-click the iFolder icon, then click Account Information. A Novell iFolder window opens on your desktop.
The iFolder window provides three property tabs:
This tab displays information about how you have configured and are using your iFolder client. It is divided into the following three sections:
User Information
Lists your iFolder username, the location of the local iFolder directory
on your workstation, and the IP address or DNS name of the iFolder server
where your files are stored.
Server Information
Lists the total space available to you on your iFolder server. It
also lists how much of that total space is used space or free space.
Your iFolder administrator assigns the storage quota that you are permitted
on the iFolder server. If you need more space, contact your administrator.
Client Information
Lists the total size of the files that are waiting to be uploaded
to the server from your workstation and the number of files that the iFolder
client remaining to be synchronized with the iFolder server.
This tab displays a log of the changes that are uploaded or downloaded between the iFolder client and the iFolder server. When you change a file in your local iFolder directory, the iFolder client automatically logs and tracks it until the next time you log in to synchronize files. The log records the synchronization time stamp and the type of change.
Click Sync to synchronize files on demand between the server and your local iFolder directory. If a synchronization is in progress, click Stop to pause it.
You also have the option to save your log activities or to clear the log of all its current entries.
Use this tab to set your preferences for synchronization, encryption passphrase, and login password.
You can enable and disable auto-synchronization by checking and unchecking the Automatic Sync check box.
Synchronize to Server
Set the delay (in seconds) between the time you make changes to your iFolder
files and the time that the iFolder client uploads them to the iFolder
server.
Synchronize from Server
Set the interval of time (in seconds) that the iFolder client waits to check
with the iFolder server to see what changes need to be downloaded to your
workstation.
If you adjust either of these values, click Apply for your changes to take effect.
You can request that the iFolder client remember your password and passphrase so that you do not need to enter them each time you log in to the iFolder server to activate synchronization of your iFolder files.
Although automatic login is convenient, it might not be a desirable option in an environment where passwords change frequently. iFolder authenticates your password against the LDAP directory and is not aware of password changes made at the network level. You must be logged in to iFolder to disable the Remember Password option. If you change your password while logged out of iFolder, you might inadvertently lock yourself out of the iFolder client.
In addition, iFolder synchronizes your files as soon as you log in to the
iFolder server and intermittently after that as long as you have an active
connection to the server and your Web browser is set to work online. There
might be occasions when you do not want iFolder to synchronize files automatically,
such as when you want to reserve limited bandwidth for other activities.
